SCBA fit test requirements

If you plan to participate in any of the following workshops, you must meet OSHA-compliant respiratory fit test requirements for self-contained breathing apparatus:

   First-in Fire Officer
   Structural Firefighting Operations
   Flashover Survival Training

These requirements can be met in any one of these three ways:
-- You may bring your own SCBA, along with documentation of a recent fit test for it.
-- You may bring fit test documentation for a Scott AV3000 facepiece. You can then use one of Montgomery County Fire and Rescue's SCBA's for the training.
-- You may complete a fit test at Montgomery County Fire and Rescue's SCBA facility. This must be done on Tuesday, March 29, between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., for those participating in the Wednesday workshops. Participants in the flashover workshop may also do their fit test on Wednesday or Thursday (March 30 and 31), between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. You can then use one of Montgomery County Fire and Rescue's SCBA's for the training.

The SCBA facility is located about 15 minutes from the conference hotel; transportation will be provided. The fit test takes about 20 minutes to complete.

If you do not meet these fit test requirements, you will not be permitted to take part in the workshop. No exceptions will be made.
