Fire Chief

Pueblo, Colorado

The City of Pueblo, Colorado, population 105,000 seeks interested individuals for the position of Fire Chief. The ideal candidate will be skilled at performing a variety of administrative and supervisory work in organizing, directing and implementing fire prevention, suppression and emergency medical services. In addition, will be experienced with modern municipal management practices and principles. Will also have experience in interacting successfully with diverse interests and opinions represented from personnel, citizens, and elected officials. Will be directly responsible for overseeing a staff of approximately 140.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in fire science, public administration, business administration, management or closely related field and at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the fire service, with at least 5 of those years being in a supervisory or administrative role. Must be able to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license by date of hire. Salary range is $97,013 - $118,564 annually, depending on experience and education. Includes excellent benefit package.
