How do I get into a workshop that has limited space?

A few of the workshops we offer can accommodate only a limited number of attendees. This is usually because they involve hands-on training or other activities where a larger number of participants would be unmanageable or unsafe.

To find out if a workshop you're interested in falls into this category, look at its description on the page of this website that includes information about the faculty. At the end of the description, it will say "Limited to __ attendees."

If the workshop description does not say this, you do not need to do anything. You can just plan on showing up for the workshop at the scheduled time.

The following workshops have space limitations:

?Feeding the Beast: Media Relations on the Fireground (Thursday, 1 p.m.)
?Preparing for the Oral Interview (Friday, 8 a.m.)
"From the Bottom to the Top:" Elevator Systems and Rescue (Friday, 8 a.m.)
?Vehicle Extrication (Friday afternoon)
?Moving Heavy Objects (Friday afternoon)
?Team Search (Saturday morning)
?Preparing for the Oral Interview (Saturday, 8:30 a.m.)
Attendees interested in one or more of these workshops will sign up for them at the conference itself. Sign-ups will be held in the registration area starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23.

Note: All workshops on Wednesday, April 23, are by advance registration only. You will be asked to indicate your choice on your registration form.
