Prestigious northern suburb of Milwaukee seeks progressive, emergency management professionals as candidates for its Fire Chief position. Fire Chief reports to Police and Fire Commission, Mayor, and City Administrator and is responsible for the leadership of 50 paid on call firefighters.

Bachelor's degree in related discipline strongly desired along with 5-7 years progressively responsible experience in fire service management. Comprehensive knowledge of modern firefighting methods, fire prevention, public education, and fire safety and inspection also required. Well developed interpersonal and management skills, proven ability to effectively direct fire service operations in emergency situations, and ability to collaborate on planning emergency government operations essential. EMS experience preferred.

Mequon is located in southern Ozaukee County, encompasses 47 square miles, and is noted for spacious residential neighborhoods, a healthy economy, an excellent school system and numerous recreational and cultural amenities. Residency required. Starting salary is $70,000-$85,000 DOQ.
