Australasian Women in Fire Fighting Conference

WIFF2006: "Same but Different" is the title of the Australasian Women in Fire Fighting Conference to be held in Sydney, Australia, June 7-9, 2006.

Following the outstanding success of the first national gathering of women involved in fire fighting work in Australia and New Zealand held in 2005, the organizers are now pleased to announce details for WIFF2006.

Many of the presentation and workshop sessions planned for WIFF2006 will cover topics specifically identified by women in firefighting as being of value and importance to them. For example, there will be sessions that assist women to participate in career and leadership opportunities more effectively, and develop networks and mentoring. There will also be sessions with an operational focus. A wide range of national and international speakers have committed to participating in WIFF2006 as keynote speakers, presenters and facilitators.

The organizers hope to encourage debate and discussion on a wide range of issues and topics relevant to women in fire fighting. WIFF2006 will provide many learning and development opportunities for delegates, as well as networking and communication opportunities.

Full conference details are available at www.ozfirewomen.info. Please e-mail with any questions.
