The Village of Roselle, IL (pop. 23,115) seeks progressive fire administrator to lead professional department of 12 FT Firefighters and 30 PT in service to established, high-quality municipality in the Chicago metropolitan area. EMS service is provided by private contract. The department operates from one station, has a $2.47 M budget and an ISO rating of 4; incident calls for 2003 totaled 2454 incidents of which 1365 were emergency medical and 1089 were fire, hazardous conditions, service, or false alarm.

Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science/Management, Public Administration or related field desired; State of Illinois Fire Officer III provisional or certified status (or equivalent) highly desired. Minimum of 10 years of experience as a firefighter with at least 5 years in a command position required. Strong organizational leadership, long-range planning, financial management, labor relations, motivational and administrative skills required. Open, accessible, participatory management style with excellent communication skills essential. Appointed by Mayor and reports to Village Administrator.
