The City of Wausau is conducting a recruitment for the position of Firefighter/Inspector for the City of Wausau Fire Department. The purpose of this position is to conduct inspections in the area of fire prevention for compliance with local & state codes, and enforce related
codes & ordinances for the City of Wausau. This is a permanent 40-hour/week position with no transfer options to line crews.

Minimum requirements: Associate degree in Fire Science, at least 3 years firefighting or fire prevention/inspection experience, or combination of education/experience which provides equivalent knowledge, skills & abilities. State of Wisconsin Firefighter I Certification or its equivalent, EMT-Basic Certification, Wisconsin Fire Inspector Certification, Under/Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector Certification, and UDC - HVAC Certification are necessary within first year of hire.
