In conjunction with the 9th International Conference of Fire Service Women, WFS will hold a one-day fire service recruiting fair -- "Recruitment Expo 2001" -- on Saturday, March 17th, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. This Expo is an opportunity for potential firefighter candidates to meet with recruiters from fire departments and other fire agencies who are looking for applicants for their fire service jobs. Admission to the Expo is free, and you do not have to be registered for the conference in order to attend. We welcome everyone to come and see what kinds of jobs are available, and whether there might be a future career for you in the fire service.

The Expo and conference will also feature a demonstration of the new Candidate Physical Ability Test, in the hotel parking lot, from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday. If you're serious about testing for a structural firefighting position, you'll want to check this out.

The Expo itself will be held in the Habersham Ballroom of the Renaissance Waverly Hotel, 2450 Galleria Parkway, in Cobb County on the northern edge of Atlanta (just off I-75 and I-675). For more information, call 608/233-4768. We will post a list of exhibitors on this page as they are confirmed.

Recruitment booth space on Saturday is available for $175 for municipalities and other non-profit entities; $350 for others. Move-in will take place on Friday evening and Saturday morning; move-out will begin after the Expo closes and must be completed by 8 p.m. Recruiters who are also attending the conference should note that they will not be able to attend the Saturday morning workshop session.
